The Bahamas removed the import duty on many luxury goods such as perfumes, crystal, leather goods, jewelry, fine linens, watches, cameras, china, binoculars, and telescopes that are all duty free.
Port Lucaya Marketplace is Grand Bahama’s main shopping district. You’ll find dozens of specialty boutiques, art galleries and a straw market. The art of straw work is one of the oldest industries in the Bahamas. There are beautiful baskets, hats, and wooden carvings in addition to local artists who paint on canvas, watercolors and on wearable art.
